The port of Brindisi has 21 commercial docks, for a linear development of over 3,700 meters. The Outer Harbor is used primarily for landing industrial products, mostly to the establishments of the chemical industrial centers. It has, therefore, facilities for loading and unloading this kind of material.

In the Seno di Levante, in the Inner Harbor, there are eleven active wharves, eight of which were assigned to ferry traffic, with potential for eight simultaneously berthed ships.

Along the Punto Franco quay there are silos for dry corn, with a receptive capacity of more than 27,000 tons, besides specialized equipment for shipment of these products.

The Costa Morena quays have 300,000 square meters of yards. Along the Costa Morena dam develops the unloading system of power products for power plants in Brindisi. Finally, the western part of Costa Morena has 270 meters of quay for ro-ro traffic with possibility of simultaneous berthing for five ships.

Access to the three harbours is possible 24 hours a day.

In Brindisi are forbidden activities' of navigation, anchoring and fishing in the Inner Harbor area in front of the firing ranges of Punta Contessa and Torre Veneri during the days of exercise (when the polygons are marked with red flags). In the Middle Harbor, however, applies the prohibition on anchoring within 200 feet in the stretch between "Caprarella" and the mouth of the Pigolati Channel as well as in the zone extending from the heading of Costa Morena dam at the southern end of Pigolati Channel.
