GENERAL INFORMATIONS ABOUT THIS WEBSITE Purposes The Integrated Telematic Information System of the Ports (S.I.T.I.P.) website is maintained to achieve the following purposes:

• promoting the use of telematic services for economic development and technological innovation in the network of the Apulian ports;
• disseminating information of interest of the port communities;
• to providing a gateway to S.I.T.I.P. e-services through a restricted access area.

PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
The Apulia Region is committed to user privacy. The policy on "protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data " is based on Italian “Privacy Code”, Decreto Legislativo n. 196/2003.

Hereinafter the procedures for processing of users personal data are described. This disclaimer is provided under article13 of the Italian Privacy Code, to all those who interact with web e-services provided by the Apulia Region, accessing from http://www.___________.___, corresponding to the official home page of the Site. The disclaimer is made only for this Site and not to other web sites accessed through links here available. The information given below takes into account the Recommendation 2 / 2001 that the European authorities for the protection of personal data gathered by the Group established with the article 29 of Directive 95/46/CE, adopted on 17 May 2001, in order to identify the minimum requirements for collecting on-line personal data, such as, in particular, the manners, timing and type of information that the data processors must provide to users when they connect to web pages regardless of the reasons of connections.

Types of processed data and purpose of processing
The navigation through the site is free and requires no registration by the user, except in the case where the user wants to access the SITIP restricted area collecting the e-services. In this case, the personal data collection is needed to make these services accessible.
Referring to the types of used data, we can distinguish:

• - Personal data from users navigation
• - The IT systems and software procedures, used to operate the Site, acquire, during normal operation, some data whose transmission is implicit in the communication protocols of the Internet. This information is not collected to be associated with identified persons, however, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users identification. This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users who access the site, addresses in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) of requested resources, the time of request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the numerical code indicating the status of the response from the server (successful, error, etc..) and other parameters regarding the operating system and computer environment. These data are used exclusively by the Apulia Region in anonymous form, to obtain statistics about the site or to check its proper functioning, and be retained for the time defined by the rules of legal reference. The data could be used and archived in case of suspected crimes related to the Site. In this case, the Apulia Region reserves the right to resort to Police Authorities for investigation.
• - Personal data provided by users -
  The personal information voluntarily provided by users in order to use the SITIP e-services, will be processed by Apulia Region to perform these services. The data could be communicated to third parties only if strictly necessary for the execution of the service. Specific summary information will be shown or displayed in the pages of the site designated for e-services. Apart from the above specified, the collection of users personal data is optional, although useful for the supply of certain services. In this case, therefore, the failure of data providing could jeopardize the provision of services.

Cookies
Application software may contain "cookie" technology. Cookies are primarily used to facilitate user navigation. Cookies can provide navigational information within the Site and enable the functioning of some services that require identification of the user's path through different pages of the site. The cookies stored in the application are anonymous and can not be attributed to personal information. At any access to the portal, regardless of the presence of a cookie, the type of browser (eg Internet Explorer, Netscape), operating system (eg Macintosh, Windows), the host and source URL of the visitor will be recorded. The user could also set his browser in order to be notified when receiving a cookie so he can decide to eliminate it.

Methods of data treatment
The processing of personal data consist of the collection, storage, organization, editing, selection, extraction, comparison, use, interconnection, blocking, communication, dissemination, erasure and destruction of these data, including combinations of two or more of these operations.

Data will be processed directly by the Controller, through the Manager, as well as private companies that perform various services in accordance with local regulations (eg , maintenance and technical support of the Site and related services). In any case, no information coming from the Site will be communicated to third parties without the consent of the user, except in cases where it is strictly functional to give the service requested by the user himself. Personal data are not subject to disclosure.

Data are stored for the necessary period of time and for the purposes for which they were collected or subsequently processed, as provided by law obligations.

User Rights
According to Art. 7 of the Privacy Code, user have the right to obtain confirmation of whether or not personal data concerning him are collected, even if not yet recorded.

User have the right to obtain further indication

• a) the origin of personal data;
• b) the purposes and methods of treatment;
• c) the logic applied in case of treatment with the help of electronic means;
• d) the identity of the responsible of data treatment, the manager and the representatives appointed under article 5, paragraph 2, of the said Privacy Code;
• e) subjects or categories of persons to whom personal data may be communicated or who can learn about them as appointed representative, managers or agents.

User have the right to obtain:

• a) updating, rectification or, when interested, integration of data;
• b) deleting, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of unlawfully data processed, including data that are not need to be kept for the purposes for which data were collected or subsequently processed;
• c) certification that the operations in letters a) and b) have been notified, including their contents, to those to whom the data have been disclosed, except where such compliance is impossible or involves the use of means clearly disproportionate to the protected right.

User have the right in whole or in part to oppose the processing of personal data:

• a) for legitimate reasons, even within the scope of the collection;
• b) for the purpose of advertising materials sending or direct selling or for carrying out market research or commercial communication.

Personal data in information contents of the Site for news reporting purposes (news, photos, videos, etc..) are treated in accordance with the rules provided for in Title XII of the "Privacy Code" and, in particular, in Articles 136 (Journalistic purpose and other manifestations of thought), 137 (provisions), 138 (secret) and 139 (Code of ethics relating to journalistic activities).
