The project S.I.T.I.P., financed with European Funds PON TRASPORTI - ITS 2000-2006 Measure III.4, is an initiative of the Councilor to transportation and communication routes of the Apulia Region, who also took on the leadership and coordination.

Telematic Information Integrated System of the Ports was produced by a consortium of companies led by SMA S.p.A., a company part of Intini Group.

Other two companies, Sintra S.r.l. and Digigroup S.r.l., have cooperate with SMA S.p.A. giving a valuable contribution to the project by developing two software applications, integrated into S.I.T.I.P., for managing and monitoring the transport of dangerous goods.
