IT-ARCHITECTURE

The Telematic Integrated Information System for the Ports is sustained by a complex technology architecture whose basic elements are:

  • Regional Data Processing Center (CED), which is the backbone of information technology for supporting the entire information system. The CED allows the collection, processing and exchange of data (encrypted and protected) among all the users who are involved in the port activities and currently connected to the computer network of the Apulian Ports;
  • The Port Hubs: these are the local subsystems that manage the data collected in the port area. Nodes exchange data with the central computer system in order to make available the SITIP services to the port operators connected to the system;
  • Intelligent Gates: integrated technologies systems equipped with many sensors capable of automating access to the port. Intelligent Gates ensure greater efficiency in managing the flow of goods and passengers, higher security in port areas and facilitate traffic jams from main roads to the port gates;
  • Web portal: this is the main channel to access to all the IT-services provided by SITIP.
